The IIF expects in its report titled “Lebanon: Turmoil in
Syria Dims Economic Prospects” Lebanon’s real GDP growth to slow to 1.2%
during the year 2012, in comparison with a growth of 1.8% in the year 2011.
Nonetheless, the report praised the strong resilience of the banking sector in
face of the Syrian crisis, backed by a loyal customer base and a sustained
inflow of remittances from the Lebanese Diaspora.

توقّع معهد التمويل الدولي في تقريره حول تأثير الإضطرابات السوريّة على الإقتصاد اللّبناني أن تنخفض نسبة النموّ في الناتج المحلّي الإجمالي في لبنان إلى 1.2% خلال العام 2012، مقارنةً مع نموّ بنسبة 1.8% خلال العام 2011. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، أشار التقرير أنّ الإقتصاد اللبناني قد برهن عن صلابةٍ نسبيّة في وجه الأزمة السورية، بالأخصّ في القطاع المصرفي الذي يتميّز بقاعدة مودعين أوفياء وبتدفّق مستمرّ لتحويلات المغتربين.
