Lebanon ranks 108th in the World and 2nd in the Region in Press Freedom

Freedom House’s latest report titled “Freedom of The Press 2012: Breakthroughs and Pushback in the Middle East” positioned Lebanon among countries having a partly free press, assigning it a score of 51 for the year 2011, hence occupying the 108^th position in terms of press freedom in the world and 2^nd place among 19 countries in the Middle East and North Africa region. On a yearly basis, Lebanon preserved the same regional and global ranks it occupied in 2010 at a time when it scored 53 in press freedom.

صنّف تقرير "فريدوم هاوس" المعنون "حريّة الصحافة للعام 2012: إنفراج وإنتكاسة في الشرق الأوسط" لبنان ضمن لائحة الدول التي تتمتّع بصحافة "شبه حرّة". وقد سجّل لبنان نتيجة 51 في العام 2011، ليحتلّ بذلك المرتبة 108 على صعيدٍ عالميٍّ والمرتبة الثانية بين 19 دولة في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا لجهة حريّة الصحافة. أمّا على صعيدٍ سنويٍّ، فقد حافظ لبنان على موقعه إقليميّاً وعالميّاً مقارنةً مع نتائج العام 2010.

Real Estate Sale Transactions up by 21.04% in March 2012

Activity in the real estate sector reversed its downturn in the month of March 2012 with the number of real estate transactions rising by 21.04% to 6,241 up from 5,156 in February. On an cumulative basis, however, the number of real estate transactions fell by 3.39% y-o-y to 16,784 during the first quarter of 2012 in comparison with 17,373 in the first quarter of 2011.

تحسّن أداء القطاع العقاريّ في لبنان خلال شهر آذار من العام 2012 حيث إرتفع عدد المعاملات العقاريّة بنسبة 21.04% إلى 6,241 معاملة مقارنةً مع 5,156 معاملة خلال شهر شباط. أمّا على صعيد سنوي، فقد إنخفض عدد المعاملات العقاريّة بنسبة 3.39% إلى 16,784 مع نهاية الفصل الأوّل من العام 2012 مقارنةً مع 17,373 معاملة عقاريّة سجّلت خلال الفترة نفسها من العام 2011.
